Technical Advice

Ed has worked increasingly in the last 5 years as a Technical Advisor assisting various companies and outdoor organisations in current best practice and down to earth safety solutions.

As a Mountain Instructor Certificate (MIC) holder Ed can advise on the following:

  • Climbing on indoor and outdoor manmade structures.
  • Rock climbing to all levels UK wide.
  • Snow and ice climbing to all levels UK wide.
  • Mountain and hill walking in summer and winter.
  • Camping and related activities.
  • The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.
  • MLTUK Mountain Instructor Schemes.
  • MLTE courses (CWA,WGL,SPA and ML)

The role of Technical Advisor can include:

  • Giving relevant advice.
  • Running training courses.
  • Informing of good practice.
  • Assisting with the development of standard operating procedures and risk assessments.
  • Assisting with the selection and rejection of equipment.
  • Assisting in the application for licensing from the Adventure Activities Licensing Service.
